The Interior Architecture Department offers a unique curriculum that prepares designers for the specific issues associated with designing cruise ship and yacht interiors. This is the nation’s only formal educational initiative that prepares interior designers to work in the cruise ship and yacht industry. The certificate program involves international workshops with talented designers. Enrollment in the certificate program offers FIU students the opportunity to gain specialized knowledge in this area of design prior to graduation with their Master of Interior Architecture degree.

“The Certificate in Cruise Ship and Super Yacht Interior Design program utilizes partnerships between FIU and major Cruise Lines design departments to offer interior design graduate students the opportunity to train for careers in this exciting industry.”

Entrance into the program is limited to students entering the second year of the Master of Interior Architecture curriculum who have earned a grade point average of 3.0 or better in the graduate program. CSSY is a ONE year specific track starting in the summer and continuing in fall of the same year and spring of the next.
